Zoe-perry
Perry is Perry is a Chicago native, born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first roles on television included two episodes in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. Her parents, however, did not let her perform until she was an adult, for fear of the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry stated that she was shy to act in high school but began acting at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred to the university from Boston University. After graduating Perry went into New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought Perry back home to California where she found theatre work. Perry starred with her mother in The Other Place at Broadway, back in 2013. She performed with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. Her father played her character in her role on the ABC drama Scandal. Also, she was cast on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. She got the part by auditioning for an open role despite having a connection to this persona.
