Pickler was raised in a challenging environment. When she was only two, she was abandoned by her mother in order to escape an abusive marriage. Pickler was reunited with her mother in 1995, when she assumed custody. However, things didn't work out the way she had hoped. After Pickler aged twelve, the court sent her to her grandmothers, which raised her to adulthood. Pickler, in the absence her parents and older siblings, became too busy to be a mother. She revealed that she didn't have time to read and began learning how to become a housekeeper at a young age. Pickler was a cheerleader in both middle school and her high school.
